Constrained public budgets and a growing recognition at the local level of the importance of infrastructure— combined with lack of action at the federal level—are causing states, regions and cities across the U.S. to seek innovative infrastructure approaches and solutions. Joint Team from the University of Colorado and Harvard University Wins Top Prize In the 2012 Urban Land Institute Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition 

A joint team of students representing the University of Colorado and Harvard University has won the $50,000 top prize in the 2012 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition with a long-term redevelopment plan for a new downtown Houston district that includes public open space, integrates into the existing fabric of the surrounding neighborhoods, and brings residential units into the city’s core.  [Press Release]

 New Urban Land Institute Survey, ULI Real Estate Consensus Forecast, Projects Improvements for the Real Estate Industry Through 2014
A new Urban Land Institute survey of 38 leading real estate economists and analysts from across the United States projects broad improvements for the nation’s economy, real estate capital markets, real estate fundamentals and the housing industry through 2014. The findings, released today, mark the start of a semi-annual survey of economists, the ULI Real Estate Consensus Forecast, being conducted by the ULI Center for Capital Markets and Real Estate. The Urban Land Institute Joins Forces with the Greenprint Foundation To Create ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance     
The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is enhancing its commitment to environmentally conscious development with the transfer of the activities and assets of the Greenprint Foundation into the newly formed ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance. With this action, ULI is continuing the operation of a unique industry-to-industry initiative through which leading real estate professionals exchange information and measure individual building and portfolio performance on the basis of energy use and carbon emissions.  [Press Release
